Futuregames Warsaw: Advancing game development with novel pipelines

How do you teach 3D Gaussian Splatting to game developers who need production-ready pipelines, industry-standard integration, and actionable knowledge they can deploy immediately?

Futuregames Warsaw - located at CD PROJEKT RED's campus and ranked among the world's best game development schools - invited us to share cutting-edge workflows with their community of students and professionals.

We listened first, mapped needs (real-time engine compatibility, scalable capture methods, end-to-end pipeline clarity), and then designed a comprehensive lecture combining accessible tools (Scaniverse, Luma AI, KIRI Engine) with professional workflows (XGRIDS, Postshot) and seamless integration into Unity 3D and Unreal Engine 5

What emerged was a complete knowledge transfer ecosystem. Participants learned state-of-the-art 3DGS capture techniques - from rapid mobile-based prototyping using cloud services to high-fidelity graphics workstation pipelines with in-depth customization. The technical coverage was rigorous: neural radiance field fundamentals, multi-format outputs (mesh-inclusive 3DGS, relightable Gaussians), real-time rendering optimization, and cross-platform deployment strategies and challenges. The results were immediate: attendees left with working knowledge of production-ready pipelines.

Competencies that inspire tomorrow's creators

We specialize in trainings in spatial technologies and AI. Our tailored programs integrate practical application with academic knowledge. We partner with industry leaders to offer tertiary education in creative media design, including Hong Kong Baptist University's BA/BS in Arts and Technology, the City University of Hong Kong's MA in Creative Media, and SWPS University Warsaw's School of Form. Students gain hands-on experience through intensive hackathons and semester-long courses in spatial media design.

City University of Hong Kong: Transforming media design education through Generative AI and 3D Gaussian Splatting Integration

This project began with a question: How do you teach 3D Gaussian Splatting to students who aren't filmmaking majors, don't have access to expensive hardware, and need to produce portfolio-ready work in one semester?

The School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong came to us with a vision but no clear pipeline. We listened first, mapped constraints (diverse skill levels, limited capture time, need for web-based dissemination), and then designed a modular curriculum combining free tools (Scaniverse, Luma AI) with professional workflows (XGRIDS, Unreal Engine 5, Arrival.Space hosting).

W What emerged was a complete educational ecosystem. Students captured spatial scenes, processed them using multiple methods, integrated splats into real-time engines, and published their work in a web-hosted gallery that reached over 500 visitors in three months. The technical work was rigorous - multi-format outputs, performance optimization, cross-platform testing. The results were immediate: students left with portfolio pieces and working knowledge of cutting-edge pipelines.

This project taught us something important: the best technology serves the creative vision. Students didn't obsess over Gaussian count or PSNR metrics. They focused on storytelling, memory, and spatial atmosphere - exactly what they should care about.

We documented the process, built reusable workflow templates, and forged industry partnerships (XGRIDS, KIRI Engine, Arrival.Space) that can support education initiatives globally. That's how we work: solve the problem, leave capability behind, share the findings.
